When do I need to bring in my child for the first time?
Every child is different and there is no right age. Herewith a few recommendations from our dentists:
children should visit the dentist by their first birthday;
it’s a great idea to create a positive association with your dentist: bring your children in when you come in for your regular evaluation. This will help to develop a positive outlook to their future dental visits.
What dental work does my child need?
We recommend the following routine and treatments:
regular visits, every 6 months
dental cleaning and checkups
fluoride treatment to keep teeth their strongest
Fissure sealants – most common dental services for children
Sealants form a protective barrier on your child’s tooth, filling in the crevasses on the chewing surfaces of the teeth. This shuts out food particles that could get caught in the teeth, causing cavities. The application is fast and comfortable. Sealants last for several years, but will be monitored at your regular checkups.
